Company Overview and History
XTEK's business was established just before the Hilton Hotel bombing in Sydney during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in 1978. The Company provides equipment, training and support services to Federal and State Government Departments and Police Forces responsible for Australia's national internal security.
XTEK is the leader in its field with a large number of exclusive product distribution agreements and the provision of after-sales service, training, support and consultancy. Key management and staff have distinguished military and police backgrounds and extensive experience in the Homeland Security market.
XTEK was a major supplier of security products and services to the Sydney Organising Committee of the Olympic Games in 2000. It was also one of the first suppliers to the new army units formed to provide a High Risk and Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear response capacity.
XTEK is well placed to benefit commercially from substantial increases in government spending on internal security and prevention of terrorism. Sales opportunities for the 2005-06 financial year of over $20 million have already been identified.
XTEK is in a strong market position to extend existing product lines and to offer its clients fully integrated product solutions through the development of new capabilities. An in-house training capability has been created which has already established long term contracts to provide training in baggage screening to Government agencies. XTEK's state of the art training facility was opened in July 2004.
XTEK has initiated an extensive Development & Engineering program with the principal objective of developing innovative and unique products that can be sold directly within Australia and through distributors overseas. The Company has acquired a suite of intellectual property that lies within the Homeland Security market. The first home grown product was brought to market in June 2005.
XTEK continues to support the Army and Police Units that were set up for the Sydney Olympic Games and which have been subsequently expanded and replicated following the spate of terrorist attacks since 2001. State Governments have been quick to match the Federal Government's financial commitment and have also expanded their equipment inventories with XTEK products.
